Please don't create new tumblr posts with my art, reblog the original! I always provide links in the description!

Other steampunk ponies:
Applejack and Rarity: [link]
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy: [link]
The Cutie Mark Crusaders: [link]
Twilight and Pinkie: [link]
Derpy and Dinky: [link]

And here we see unnecessary augmentation taken to its extreme.
Queen Chrysalis searched tirelessly for pony scientists and doctors to turn her into the perfect changeling, implementing copper tubes, valves and wiring way beyond the contemporary grasp of technology to enhance her natural hypnotic smoke and turn herself into the most deadly and efficient changeling to ever have lived. Or, seeing as she is now more machine than pony, un-lived. But that is all the propaganda of those Celestia-loving ponies on the enemy side. Do not listen to the propaganda of the enemy! Our queen is the most benign creature in existence and the wisest of all, always leading us to food and crushing those that would threaten us with an iron-hoof!
BOW DOWN TO OUR QUEEN!

Oh wow, this thing marks a lot of things! : D It's the first steampony picture with only one pony in the picture (the Pinkie and Twilight standalones notwithstanding), it's the first villain-steampony, it's the first with a different background colour, it's the first with a higher resolution... It's generally just a first XD;;
I've been wanting to draw Chrissy for ages, you have no idea TwT

Beautiful work, and may I ask, how do you do steampunk so WELL!? I'm only 12, but I'm attempting to create a few steampunk pony pictures also, and would love a few pointers.

Asdfgh, thank you so much! >w< Only 12, and yet you have better grammar than most 16-year-olds I know XD
Ahem, anyway, as for the steampunk, I still don't think I'm really all that good at it, but I'll gladly give you some pointers anyway >w<
I try to keep it as simple as I can; not putting in any superfluous gears and cogs and such. A good thing to do, is try to imagine what every little part does on its own. What I've seen in most steampunk artists, is hat they seem to just slap a cog on and call it steampunk, but that just doesn't work for me.
I also just search "steampunk" on DA to get some inspiration, though I never steal any ideas. I usually browse through as much steampunk as I can to get the feel of it, so I know my many different sources of inspiration will get blended together; that way, I'm not just copying one picture I've seen. But my best advice, is to just practice >w< Maybe have a look at some pictures of real machinery from the industrial age to find some parts that you feel comfortable with and can apply consistently to your pictures (you may have noticed I have a fondness for copper tubes XD). That's pretty much all I can say... I hope your steampunks turns out great and good luck with it all! >w<

Thank you very kindly for your advice! In fact, I *have* been meaning to search steampunk pictures for as long as I can remember. Heck, I even mapped my way to Steampunk.com! *Their* use of olden time grammar is much too advanced for me, and confusing to be understood right. So I'm glad there are more people like you out there who can be kind, yet slightly advanced with minors like me. (Sorry for my, if you put it like this, *Over-simplistic*, form of typing. My A+ subject is English, so I do have a varied vocabulary) Anyways, yes, you have a very fine point at searching for Steampunk pictures. I shall keep that in mind the next time I get a longer chance to go on Deviantart! Thank you very much! :iconpinkiepiesmileplz:

Oh, you're very welcome, I'm just happy to help! ^w^ And don't worry about your wording and grammar, I don't think it's any more simplistic than that of the rest of the internet. No-one around here is expecting you to hold a lecture on English Literature, after all XD

Good luck with your steampunky escapades, I hope you have fun and that it turns out to your satisfaction! ^w^

Fgsfds, thank you! Malevolence isn't just something I enjoy drawing, it also happens to be one of my favourite words :D

It has a style all its own. That much is true, and chrysalis is a character in and of herself that has an aura about her that screams "Do not touch under penalty of a very painful death."

-Which is one of the things I always adored about her since day one >w< I think she's my favourite villain on the show so far. I only hope I managed to do our queen justice in this humble depiction of her...

It is a rare villain that is foiled by one simple action, with a plan and approach that is methodical, intelligent, and works. I think of xanatos, another rare kind of villain that actually won on many occasions. Chrysalis did everything right, except for striking against twilight, if she had not, and that is what is likable about it. She planned out everything, and for the issues, it worked right. If she hadn't struck out in that flaw, yet it was seen as a good reason to. To eliminate a witness, things would have worked.

And it has been ages since i saw a villain that was competent, good at what they do. Not the ones that hold the idiot ball.

Me too, it is regrettably a sad trend in modern media to make the villain of kids' shows non-threatening and incompetent. I'm very happy they didn't follow said trend in Friendship is Magic, or I think it would have lost a big part of its fanbase and allure.
